Gelek Tshering

Gelek Tshering is a junior at Pitzer College from Thimphu, Bhutan. Gelek is majoring in Science Management and minoring in Asian American Studies. She is from Thimphu, Bhutan, and began her early education in Bhutan and India. She attended a college preparatory boarding school in Colorado and was an integral part of her school's student leadership team as the student representative for the international student community. At Pitzer College, she is actively involved in various campus organizations as a mentor for the Pasifika Asian Student Union, a Biology Teaching Assistant, and a New Student Orientation Guide. Gelek is currently attending Bard College in New York City and participating in a semester exchange program, taking courses on Social Entrepreneurship & Social Resilience and Ethics & Social Sciences. In her spare time, Gelek enjoys volunteering at food banks, rock climbing, and reading.
